Banksy exhibition: Morons and policemen in unauthorised retrospective

The work has been seen in public only once since then.

Also featured is Avon & Somerset Constabulary, an image of two police officers looking through binoculars. It was produced in 2001, when the police were hunting for the Bristol-based artist whose identity has never been confirmed.

All works in the exhibition at the Sotheby's S2 gallery are for sale, with prices ranging from £4,000-50,000.

It is the first major exhibition of works by Banksy on the secondary market and has been curated by Steve Lazarides, his former agent.

Fru Tholstrup, director of the gallery, said: "Banksy is more than just a street artist – he is a true cultural phenomenon of our time.

"Although we all feel we know the images he has produced over the years, there has hardly ever been an opportunity to see together the full range of his best-known works."

Lazarides and Banksy worked together for around a decade but parted company in 2008. A spokesman for the artist said he was not involved with the exhibition.
