James Blunt - Moon Landings Q&A - Ask the singer your questions
The album Moon Landing, which is about dreams, first love and learning to be comfortable with who you are, flaws and all, entered the charts at number two, giving Blunt his biggest album sales for seven years.
Discussing the album, Blunt says, "It's a much more personal album, about us finding where it all started, and where we are now. This is the album I would have recorded if 'Back To Bedlam' hadn't sold anything."
"I am so excited for me and my band to get back on the road and play these new songs live, along with some of the older hits. My fans have never let me down, and there's nothing better than playing for them at the shows. They have been incredibly supportive of me over the years."
As well as featuring Blunt's current single Blue on Blue, Moon Landings also includes Bonfire Heart, which is the singer's second fastest-selling single ever behind You're Beautiful.
There are also songs of self-examination (Always Hate Me, The Only One), and others that would not be out of place on a film soundtrack, such Miss America - a song inspired by the tragic death of Whitney Houston.
Since the release of You're Beautiful in 2004, Blunt has had three world tours, four number one singles, won having won two Brit Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards and two Ivor Novello Awards, as well as receiving five Grammy Award nominations.
If that's not enough Blunt has sold 17 million albums and 20 million singles sold worldwide.
No bad for someone who picked up a guitar and wrote his first song at 14, before taking that same guitar to to the war in Kosovo.
For Moon Landings, Blunt returned to Los Angeles, where he stayed his friend, actress Carrie Fisher, who he has reportedly let slip will be in Star Wars Episode 7.
(Back to Bedlam was her title suggestion, and the vocals for Goodbye My Lover were recorded in her bathroom).
The result is a collection of songs that are raw, direct and emotionally honest.
