BFI London Film Festival: Dame Judi Dench, Carey Mulligan and Kate Winslet among official line-up
Inside Llewyn Davis, the latest Coen brothers film premiered in Cannes this year, will also be shown, starring actress Carey Mulligan and singer Justin Timberlake, along with Palme D'or winner Blue is the Warmest Color.
The festival will also mark the European premiere of The Invisible Woman, directed by Ralph Fiennes, starring Felicity Jones, Kristen Scott Thomas and Tom Hollander and telling the story of Charles Dickens' affair in the latter years of his life.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Brad Pitt, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Fassbender will appear in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave, while George Clooney and Sandra Bullock appear as astronauts in Gravity.
The 57th BFI London Film Festival will involve a total of 234 features, with organisers claiming it will showcase 22 "world premieres", 29 "European premieres" and 134 "live action and animated shorts".
Paul Greengrass, director of the opening film Captain Phillips, hailed the British film industry as being on a "very positive journey", with audiences "queuing up" to see home-grown talent.
